Indian Air Force’s Biggest Air Fire Power show along with the show of strength Iron Fist 2016, will be organized on March 18 at Pokhran Test Range,Rajasthan.
President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Manohar Parikar, including other cabinet ministers and foreign delegates are expected to attend the show. In this air show air force’s fighter planes, helicopters, transportation planes and other unmanned air vehicles and officers and personnel of all branches of air force will take part and preparations had already started at war footing.
The Iron Fist exercise will feature around 100 different Fighter Aircraft in the IAF Inventory, from Mirage 2000 to Sukhoi -30MKI, Attack helicopters like Mil Mi – 24 HIND and Transport Aircraft from C – 130 to IL 76. The exercise will also exhibit IAF’s network-centric warfare capability.
Iron Fist is Indian Air Force’s day-night Exercise.It was last conducted on 22 February 2013 at the Pokhran firing range. The main objective the Exercise is to display network-centric operations capabilities of the Indian Air Force along with its superior Firepower. More than 100 aircraft and 30 different weapon platforms are also believed to be participating. Along with aircraft, Garud commandos,Para SF and National Security Guard will also display their tactical skills.
Iron Fist will also feature three variants of the HAL Tejas.As Tejas moves closer to its Final Operational Clearance (FOC), the upcoming Indian Air Force (IAF) exercise Iron Fist 2016 will witness the weapons firing skills of the indigenously developed single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft, reported OneIndia, citing sources.
Along with HAL Tejas,HAL Rudra and HAL Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) will also participate in the Exercise.The Exercise will also feature Sarang Display Team.
