Indian Naval Academy gears up for Autumn Term Passing out Parade comissioning 347 cadets into the Navy as Officers

Indian Naval Academy (INA) is warming up for the Autumn Term 2016 Passing out Parade (PoP) scheduled to be held on November 26.

According to INA spokesperson, around 347 cadets, including one cadet from Tanzanian Navy, will be passing out from four different courses.

Out of those passing out, 26 are female cadets, of which 21 would join the Indian Navy and five the Indian Coast Guard.

The cadets are passing out from four different streams, including 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (B.Tech), 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (MSc), 22nd Naval Orientation Course (Extended) and 23rd Naval Orientation Course (Regular).

INA’s 4-year B.Tech degree course is accredited by All India Council for Technical Education and is conducted under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

The cadets of 91st INAC will be awarded their B.Tech degree by Dr Surendra Pal, Vice Chancellor, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune during the Convocation Ceremony scheduled on November 25.

Various Sainik school cadets, NCC cadets, students and teachers of local schools and colleges in Ezhimala have been invited to witness the parade during the Commandant’s Review on November 23 and also for the final PoP.

“Vice Admiral A R Karve, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command will be the Reviewing Officer on the occasion,” says the spokesperson.
