Indian army moves heavy artillery guns to LoC

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spent his day at a military operation room where he monitored troops’ movement along the Line of Control, BBC Urdu reported.

Unnamed defence officials confirmed the movement of heavy artillery along the Line of Control after the last week’s alleged Uri attack that killed over dozen Indian army officials.

Government officials told BBC that 105 medium range and Bofors Guns have been installed in Uri and other areas of the occupied territory.

The Indian army said the latest movement was routine preparation for coming winter and snowfall but Bofor guns and other military equipment is being deployed to cope with “a situation that might arise”.

The report also said that a Mig-21 aircraft of the Indian Air Force also crashed in Srinagar, but official sources denied confirming that the jet was taking part in the latest “preparations”.
