As much as the news of Indian Army carrying out surgical strikes across LoC at seven terrorists launch pads created festive fervour in India, it created an equal amount of frenzy in Pakistani territory. With the sense of satisfaction of avenging the Uri attacks, Indian Army is now bolder and getting ready to hit back at any more retaliation that comes their way.
A top official of the country’s security establishment told Indian Express that if Pakistan provokes again, the Army will change their operational tactics.
The official who was closely involved in the surgical strikes of September 29 said that till now the denial of Pakistan about it has worked in our favour. But the next plans might not be very predictable and reworking of operational tactics can be expected for the sole purpose of such operations is a success.
The details of the surgical strike are still pouring in. The most fatalities were reported to have been in the Lipa area of PoK, followed by Kel and Bhimber. While the exact number of gunned down terrorists is yet to be disclosed, it is being speculated close to 45-50. A big number of militants were injured as well and the majority is believed to belong to the Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
As per Indian Express, the planning of the strikes was done well in advance with 7 teams of close to 150 commandos reaching in advance to their target locations. Depending on the terrain and distance, the assault teams were launched from Indian territory on a staggered schedule so that the strikes could be simultaneous and swift.
Intelligence inputs claimed that these terrorists launch pads, which are semi built domains housed armed militants who were waiting for September 30 to strike at Indian areas.
